WKRC-TV is a local station based in Cincinnati, Ohio that broadcasts on analog channel 12. The call letters K, R, and C refer to the Codel Radio Company, which was the orginal owner of WKRC. WKRC was founded on April 4, 1949 as a CBS affiliate. It became an ABC affiliate when WKRC swapped affiliates with WCPO-TV in 1961. It held its ABC affiliation until when it swapped affiliates with WCPO-TV to become a CBS affiliate. It stayed affiliated with ABC until 1996 when it switched back to being an CBS affiliate as a result of a deal between Scripps(the owners of WCPO-TV) and ABC.Today the station remains an CBS affiliate.
