WHIZ-TV is an NBC affiliate located in Zanesville, Ohio. The station broadcasts on digital channel 40. It is owned by Marquee Broadcasting. Its sister stations are WHIZ-AM and WHIZ-FM.
WHIZ took to the air in 1953 on channel 50. In 1955, the station switched its channel number from channel 50 to channel 18. It has always been an NBC affiliate. The station serves as the NBC affiliate for the Zanesville region although it is 60 miles outside of Columbus where it competes with fellow NBC affiliate WCMH-TV.
