WGNO is the ABC affiliate for New Orleans, Louisiana, broadcasting on digital channel 26, displayed as analog 26. It is part of a duopoly with CW affiliate WNOL/channel 38, both owned by Nexstar Media Group.

Channel 26 started in 1967 as independent WWOM, changing to WGNO in 1971. It ran network programming passed up by the affiliates of ABC (WVUE), CBS (WWL) and NBC (WDSU) while maintaining an independent profile. They became an affiliate of the new WB network in 1995. In 1996 they became an ABC affiliate when Fox was wrapping up their nationwide raid of VHF affiliates and made WVUE/channel 8 their New Orleans affiliate, wresting it from WNOL which became New Orleans' WB affiliate (ten years later, the WB and UPN ceased and merged into the CW).

Tribune, which owned WGNO and WNOL, has been sold to Nexstar Media Group. WGNO and WNOL were acquired in the acquisition.
