  • A lot of fans derided the one year later jump (I wasn't one of them) but after this pair of episodes only the absurdly stubborn couldn't admit they were wrong. After a great two hour opener establishing life under the occupation this pair of episodes got everyone out but showed that the scars of that time would take a long time to heal. The visual effects involved in the escape were some of the best ever done for television and were done on a basic cable budget. It wasn't all about the action either there were major character confrontations between Gaeta and Baltar, the two Sharons, the Adamas and most prominently the Tighs, and they were some of the best character scenes the show has had. --The-jam 12:10, 30 January 2008 (EST)
  • The escape from New Caprica was easily one of the most exciting extended sequences on television ever. We watched this in a group (like we do with most BSG episodes) and people were literally shouting out "Holy $#!+" at several points. Edge-of-your-seat excitement at its best. --Davidscarter 11:47, 9 February 2008 (EST)

  • This episode blew me away the first time I watched it with how perfect it was. Set entirely at a wedding for two people we've never met before it still manages to have all the major players work their way in and out of the varying plot lines going on. Schemes are hatched and secrets revealed all without seeming rushed or directionless. The action seemlessly moves from the dance floor to the bathroom to the parking lot to the secret FBI bug room in the back. The only problem with this episode was it set the bar too high the second season seemed a bit of a let down afterwards never quite achieving its glory again (although the election and Thanksgiving episodes came close). It's a shame more people don't watch this show it deserves much more recognition than it gets for this episode alone. --The-jam 12:10, 30 January 2008 (EST)

  • A perfect example of how to do scary on television. An enemy that only moves when you're not looking at it? Brilliant. --Davidscarter 11:52, 9 February 2008 (EST)

  • The Doctor Who reboot varies wildly in quality but this episode was the absolute peak. The plot and setting were crafted brilliantly and fit into the universe. It really established the still relatively new David Tennant Doctor and fit his mannerisms perfectly. The scene of him riding the horse through the mirror is pretty much the embodiment of his take on the character. The Reinette character played by Sophia Myles was a great foil to the Doctor and her chemistry with Tennant just dripped from the screen. The clockwork robot villains of the episode at first seemed silly but were crafted just right so as to be terrifying and became one of the best villains from the entire reboot. --The-jam 12:10, 30 January 2008 (EST)

  • When a show strays from its standard formula it can either be horrible or one of the best episodes this was definitely a case of the latter. Heroes is so serialized it's hard to single out any one episode besides this one. The episode focused on just one character out of the show's large cast and explained why he does what he does and how he got where he is. The way it used the flashbacks to illuminate the present day storyline was superbly done. Even the present day storyline was pared down from the usual all over the place giant plots in standard episodes allowing the other characters involved to get nicely fleshed out as well. While Hiro may be the heart of the show Jack Coleman's Bennet is the soul. The show just would not work without him grounding everything on a normal guy just trying to keep his family safe. This episode illustrated that point tremendously. --The-jam 14:45, 30 January 2008 (EST)

  • One of the best episodes to date from a show with lots of other superb episodes. This episode had it all action, intrigue, mysteries, answers, massive plot development, major character development and the biggest surprise of all saved for the very last scene. --The-jam 12:10, 30 January 2008 (EST)

  • This episode is one of the best episodes of the series, and a fitting end to the show. It brought the show back to its roots and showed why it was one of the best series on television. -- Rvb strongbad 02:19, 19 January 2008 (EST)
  • The end was a great return to the shows film noir roots and the closing scene of the heroine walking into the rain after futily voting for her father in an election she cost him was about as noir as it could get. --The-jam 12:10, 30 January 2008 (EST)
  • One of the best series enders that I've seen as it tied back into how the show began and still left some doors open for possible continuations in comic-books or a movie. A very fitting end to a very good show that ended way too soon. -- HuskersRule 04:12, 14 February 2008 (EST)
