Plot Overview

In an attempt to raise everyone's dwindling spirits, Michael insists on planning a birthday party, even though the closest birthday is weeks away. As rumors of downsizing continue to circulate, Dwight suggests to Jim that they form a protective, strategic alliance.

Notes

While giving Michael information on Meredith, Dwight mentions that she has won "multiple Dundees." The Dundee is an award given during an episode in the second season.

While pranking Dwight, Roy bursts in and accuses Jim of being grabby with Pam. Then Jim tries to protect himself while telling the truth, while Dwight shows no support.
