Season Sixteen (1990-1991) of Saturday Night Live premiered on September 29, 1990. The sixteenth season was not only notable for being the 15th anniversary of the series, but for introducing several cast members who would go on to become prominent comedic actors. All of the group commonly referred to as "The Bad Boys of SNL" got their starts in season 16 (Chris Farley, David Spade, Rob Schneider and Adam Sandler), as well as Chris Rock and Tim Meadows.
This was also the last season of Jan Hooks, Dennis Miller and featured player A. Whitney Brown. Although Hooks and Miller left due to, presumably, their contracts being up, Brown left the show because of a personal dispute with Lorne Michaels.
