Trivia

The Show

  • Sponsorship: For the first time in Saturday Night Live history, the show was solely sponsored by Anheuser-Busch to promote their new Bud Light Golden Wheat beer. With the exception of local ad space and NBC promos, every single advertising block was purchased by the brewing company. In addition to regular filmed commercials, the commercial breaks also included several live spots from cast members and at Budweiser sponsored viewing parties, and, in order to discourage DVR users from fast-forwarding through commercials, SNL Backstage spots. These clips were culled from dress rehearsals in the show's history and featured sketches that were disrupted by cast members laughing and breaking character.
