Trivia

  • Johnson is a third-generation professional wrestler of mixed Black Canadian and Samoan descent; his father is Canadian-born wrestler Rocky Johnson (born Wayde Bowles) and his maternal grandfather was Samoan wrestler Peter Maivia.
  • Johnson holds both American and Canadian citizenship. He gained his Canadian citizenship through his father, Rocky Johnson, as the result of changes to Canadian nationality law made on April 17, 2009, which granted automatic Canadian citizenship (retroactive to their birth date) to persons born outside of Canada to Canadian-born parents after 1947 [1]
