Basic Information
Character History
Married to Don Gaspar Hidalgo, but with a roving eye for young men (Ep 5) but her main lover is Captain Marcus Grisham, for whom she acts as a spy. She helps Capt. Grisham to find where stolen property is hidden by befriending Ramon (Ep 7) She passes information about hidden gold to Captain Grisham (Ep 11) that she learnt in the bedroom from her husband Gaspar. Capt. Grisham's love is sorely tested (Ep 22) when Colonel Montoya orders her death.
From her past in life in Madrid comes (Ep 13) Bernardo, a man with whom she had a relationship from the age 14. He threatens to tear her life apart. Her only real friend is Tessa Alvarado in whom she confides her greatest secrets. (Ep 13)
She influences the other Dons' wives to help the Queen, of whom many of the wives distrust. (Ep 16)
Memorable Moments
Trivia
In The Witness (episode five) rides sidesaddle when she visits Tessa. Elsa Pataky was already a good horsewoman so was confident in riding sidesaddle. Tessie Santiago was inexperienced and only rode astride or used a wagon in which she became proficient.
