This was actually the second episode filmed, but show creator Donald Bellisario requested that it be pushed back in the rotation, since he thought that the double leap might confuse new viewers.

[edit] Music
Sam sings for the first time in this episode, covering "Volare" even though he doesn't quite know the words. Future songs are played with less humor, and allow Scott Bakula's real singing voice to shine.
