Gerald Jackson was NCIS's assistant medical examiner under Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard until he was shot and badly wounded by terrorist Ari, who infiltrated the NCIS morgue. He was at least temporarily replaced by assistant ME Jimmy Palmer during his medical leave. During the events surrounding the death of Agent Kate Todd, Ari kidnapped him and held him hostage to force Ducky to come and talk to him.

Gerald cannot drive a car with a manual transmission, and ground the gears of Ducky's antique car pretty badly while trying to get away from Ari. This, needless to say, did not make Ducky happy.
