The Temple, is one of the stations built by the DHARMA Initiative. This station was first mentioned in "Through the Looking Glass".

Purpose
The Temple was constructed by the DHARMA Initiative, but its purpose is currently unknown.
The Station
After a group of survivors from Oceanic 815 found the barracks, the Others abandoned the barracks and traveled to the Temple. Benjamin Linus was eventually captured after trying to stop the Oceanic survivors from contacting Naomi Dorrit's freighter, a vessel operated by the dangerous Charles Widmore. As the freighter now had the location of the island, Ben was sure armed men would come to find him. This placed his daughter, Alexandra Rousseau, in danger. He persuaded her to travel to the Temple and called it a place of sanctuary and perhaps the last safe place on the island. It's located about a day and a half's walk west of the barracks.
