Kitchen Confidential is a situational comedy loosely adapted from Anthony Bourdain's novel of the same name. The series takes place in a high class restaurant where Bourdain has been given a second chance at stardom after pissing away his career on partying and substance abuse. He must coordinate a team of chefs to dazzle the public at large, while still keeping the owner happy with his methods.

The series was extremely short-lived due to dismal ratings and an inability to compete with other shows on at the time, particularly against other comedies like How I Met Your Mother. This failure could be attributed to the unusual style of comedy and a lack of a laugh-track, as well as the inability to create significant momentum due to lengthy breaks and lackluster advertising. The series was ultimately cancelled on December 5, 2005, after a meager four episodes were aired.

The remaining nine produced episodes are available in the DVD release.
