Season Two

Season One of Heroes premiered on September 25, 2006. The overall storyline of the first season was broken up into several smaller arcs, which involve the introduction of the various heroes and propelling them towards averting a great catastrophe that will devastate New York City. For this reason, the debut season is unofficially titled "Genesis."

As the season progressed, the smaller arcs were defined by a variety of marketing catchphrases, "Save the cheerleader, save the world," for instance, Peter, Isaac and Hiro to Texas in order to prevent Claire's death at the hands of Sylar, a serial killer who targets people with powers. Another catchphrase used was "Are you on the list?," referring to a list of people with abilities and Mohinder's attempts to track them down.
