Gillian Anderson is an American actress, best known for her role as Special Agent Dana Scully in the sci-fi series, The X-Files.
Biography
Gillian Anderson was born in Chicago, IL on August 9, 1968. Soon after her birth, her family moved to England where her father could study film production. After 9 years, the family moved back to the U.S. where they settled in Grand Rapids, MI.
After years of wanting to be an archeologist or marine biologist, Anderson, on a whim, decided to pursue a career in acting. She enrolled in DePaul University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. After various roles here and there, Anderson landed the role as Agent Dana Scully on the hit series The X-Files in 1993.

- Her younger brother, Aaron, was diagnosed in 1984 with Neurofibromatosis. Since then, Anderson has done numerous fundraisers to raise awareness and to help find a cure for the disease.
