Plot Overview

The Charmed Ones are trying to save a doctor from being murdered by the demonic hit-man, Shax, who is after him because he's done too much good in his life or is destined to save a life that would threaten the Underworld. Shax hunts them down, nearly killing Prue and Piper by throwing them into a wall. Phoebe comes from the attic to chant the vanquish and Shax disappears. She calls Leo to heal her elder sisters and Prue and Piper immediately go outside to face Shax. He meets them in an alley, where Prue deflects his power and Piper blows him up. Unknown to them, a news reporter happened to witness this and as a consequence, the city, live.

Phoebe goes to the Underworld to save Cole from Raynor's spell and succeeds. After reuniting, the two lovers ponder their future. Meanwhile, Prue and Piper deal with their exposure which has summoned much unwanted attention and tell Leo to watch after Phoebe's back in the Underworld and to have Tempus reset time to undo all of this. Cole agrees to convince the Source about the deal. A hippie breaks into their house, wanting to join their coven. Prue harshly throws her out with her power, thus striking the hippie's nerve. In response, the hippie shoots Piper. When Prue attempts to drive her sister to the hospital, everyone is blocking their escape, causing Prue to completely snap and use her power to throw the spectators out of her way.

Once at the hospital, Piper is eventually pronounced dead. In the Underworld, the Source has arrived and agrees to Cole's request to resetting time (which will not affect anyone in the Underworld), provided that Phoebe agrees to stay in the Underworld. Leo informs Prue about the situation and gets the news of his wife's death. Just as Prue is about to be killed by SWAT, the Source resets time, ordering a demon to detain Cole and to kill Phoebe, thereby preventing them from being saved by Shax's previous attack.

The day is restarted and Shax arrives at the manor, throwing Prue and Piper throw the wall, resulting in Prue's death. Since Phoebe is not there to intervene, Shax is able to kill the doctor as well and leaves the manor.

This episode has had the most impact on all of the characters, since the Charmed Ones are finally defeated with Prue's death.
