Charmed (1998–2006) is the story about the lives of three sisters who were born with the innate powers of the Charmed ones, a trio of powerful witches capable of stopping time, premonition, and astral projection. One of the series born from the female-driven influence Buffy the Vampire Slayer brought to mainstream television, Charmed has gone on to be one of the most successful fantasy shows on the air, giving birth to popular actors such as Shannen Doherty and Julian McMahon.

Charmed is the first official casuality of the WB and UPN merge into The CW; although Charmed has enjoyed strong ratings and achieved a ratings revival in its later seasons, it has dropped heavily in the Nielsen Ratings due to the popularity of Desperate Housewives and as such no longer is the ratings success it once was, prompting The WB to drop it from the merged network's future lineup.
