7th Heaven (1996–2007) is a popular, family-oriented program that is unique among The WB's shows for discussing relevant, current issues and showing a mostly functional family. The show has an expansive cast and, while once focused only on the Camden family, has expanded outward to include the childrens' children, friends and significant others.

During the series' tenth season, The WB merged with UPN to create The CW and initially intended to cancel the series due to the expense it represents. However, this decision was quickly reversed when it was renewed for an eleventh season on the new network. On March 30th, producers for the show were reportedly alerted that they would not be coming back for another season.
