Season Four of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters premiered on February 18, 2003. This season is also known as Yu-Gi-Oh! Waking the Dragons.

This season is considered filler, as it is exclusive to the anime and is not in the manga. An organization known as Doma attempts to revive the ancient beast known as The Great Leviathan by stealing the Egyptian god cards and using the power of the Orichalcos to steal the souls of people. Yugi, Kaiba, and Joey join forces with the three legendary dragons Timaeus, Critias, and Heirmos to stop this evil force.
