WSVF-CD2
WSVF-CD2 is a television station in Harrisonburg, Virginia that is the market's CBS affiliate. It broadcasts on digital channel 43.2, a subcarrier of Fox affiliate WSVF-CD, as where it had been on analog channel 25. Their low-power 14,000 watt signal originates from the same transmitter as ABC affiliate WSHV.
The station signed on as a translator for WAZT, a religious independent in Woodstock, Va. and went under calls of W25CC, W25AZ, WAZM-LP and after an upgrade WAZM-CA. The station was purchased by Gray Television (owner of WSHV, whose studios WSVF will share) and went dark in June of 2012 as analog equipment was not made available. Gray will use an existing digital permit. Harrisonburg had been receiving CBS on cable through Washington D.C. affiliate WUSA. WSVF had originally been pegged to be the primary channel, but Fox moved from the subcarrier of ABC affiliate WHSV/channel 3 to become the primary of WSVF, so CBS was moved to the subcarrier.
WSVF-CD2 airs replays of WSHV's 6 PM news at 7 PM and simulcasts the 11 PM telecast.
