WKYC is an NBC affiliate in Cleveland, Ohio. The station broadcasts on digital channel 17 and is owned by Tegna Media, the broadcast media division of Gannett.
WKYC first started in 1948 as WNBK on channel 4, then the channel number changed to 3 in 1954. In 1956, the station changed its call letters to KYW-TV (now the call letters of the CBS affiliate in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania). In 1965, the station once again changed its call letters to the current WKYC. The station has been an NBC affiliate since its inception.
