WJHG-DT3 is a full-power (67,000 watts) subcarrier on Panama City, Florida's NBC affiliate WJHG. It retransmits the signal of sister station and CBS affiliate WECP/channel 18. It had been the market's My Network TV affiliate, broadcasting on digital channel 16.3, displayed as virtual 7.3. In 2012, My Network TV moved to 18.2, the subcarrier of WECP.
The subcarrier opened in 2002 as a UPN affiliate. In 2006, UPN and the CW shut down and merged to become the CW (which is on WJHG-DT2). Fox's parent company, News Corporation, started a new network, My Network TV and made WJHG-DT3 its Panama Ciity affiliate. In 2012, WECP-LD signed on as Panama City's first self-contained CBS affiliate (replacing WTVY/channel 4 in Dothan, Alabama, which had been the market's default CBS affiliate since 1960). As WECP operates on only 15,000 watts, WJHG retransmits it on channel 7.3 on full power to give it wider coverage. My Network TV subsequently moved to WECP's 18.2 subcarrier.
