WGNT is a television station in Norfolk, Virginia (licensed to Portsmouth), a CW owned-and-operated station.
WGNT signed on the air October 1, 1961 as call letters WYAH-TV, in 1989, it changed its call letters to WGNT. In 1995, WGNT became a UPN affiliate, serving Portsmouth/Norfolk/Newport News. In 2006, WGNT became a CW affiliate when The WB and UPN signed off the air.
WGNT is the programming hub for two other CW affiliates, WUPA in Atlanta GA and WTOG in St. Petersburg FL.
