WGFL is the CBS affiliate for the Gainesville, Florida market, broadcasting on digital channel 28. WGFL brands itself as "CBS 4" to denote its position on local cable systems. It is licensed to High Springs. It operates NBC affiliate WNBW/channel 9 (owned by MPS Media) through a local marketing agreement. It carries a retransmission of My Network TV affiliate WMYG-LP/channel 11 on a subcarrier.

WGFL signed on in 1997 as an affiliate of the WB network on analog channel 53 with UPN as secondary. In 2002, the WB moved to the subcarrier of ABC affiliate WCJB/channel 20. After WJXT/channel 4 in Jacksonville switched from CBS to independent status, WGFL took affiliation with CBS and carried UPN on its subcarrier. In 2006, the WB and UPN merged to become the CW (on the WCJB subcarrier). In 2008, WGFL vacated analog 53 (now used by WNBW) and moved to channel 28, also used as its virtual.
