Underbelly is a 13-part miniseries about the 1995–2004 gangland wars in Melbourne's underworld. It is based on the book Leadbelly: The Inside Story of an Underworld War by John Silvester and Andrew Rule.
On February 12, 2008, the Supreme Court of Victoria indefinitely banned Nine from broadcasting the show in the state of Victoria and on the Internet due to concern that it might prejudice a jury for a pending trial of a man accused of a 2004 gangland killing.
