Basic Information

Princess Tomoyo is the ruler of an alternate version of Japan from which Kurogane hails. Kurogane was becoming a danger to the kingdom, so Tomoyo used her magic to banish him from their world. In the process, she also laid a curse on him: for every person he kills, his power is diminished.

Tomoyo Daidouji is the president of Piffle Princess in Piffle World. Piffle Princess is a toy company that also sponsors the Dragonfly Race that Syaoran and the others take part in. Tomoyo looked forward to recording the race, and upon meeting Sakura, declared her the heroine she'd been looking for.

Character History

Kurogane was one of Princess Tomoyo's warriors, possibly the most powerful. He was becoming too powerful, and in his arrogance constantly looked for greater and greater challenges, becoming destructive in his violence. Tomoyo confronted him in her throne room, and when he revealed his goal of becoming ever stronger through conflict, she cast two spells on him. The first was a teleportation spell that sent him to Yūko, the Dimensional Witch. The second was a curse laid upon his forehead, that would reduce his strength for every person he killed.

Kurogane spotted one of her alternates in The Sword That Dispels Evil, but quickly realized it was not the Tomoyo he knew. The same went for his encounter with Tomoyo Daidouji in The Dangerous Race. At first, she was more interested in Sakura, but they soon learned there was a reason for it — her alternate, Princess Tomoyo, had contacted her in a dream about the mysterious feather that Piffle Princess found during an archeological expedition. Ms. Daidouji was instructed to give it to Sakura when she arrived in Piffle World. Tomoyo then rigged the Dragonfly Race to ensure that Sakura received the feather as a prize.

Trivia

• Princess Tomoyo is an alternate reality version of Tomoyo Daidouji from Cardcaptor Sakura. Though both are of a high social status (Tomoyo Daidouji is the daughter of the president of a toy company) they are very different in personality. Additionally, Tomoyo Daidouji is Sakura's best friend, while there exists no connection between the two in Tsubasa Chronicle. The Tomoyo Daidouji that appears later on in Tsubasa Chronicle is closer to the original, though in Cardcaptor Sakura it is her mother who is president of a toy company. But she shares the same love of videotaping Sakura.
