Plot Overview

Sakura and Mokona wait for the moon to reach its zenith, transporting the two of them to the castle. They arrive as Ashura is clutching Yasha's belongings. Ashura calls Syaoran and Sakura over, and tells them that King Yasha is dead, and has been for some time. Sakura recalls the dream she had, which was actually a vision of Yasha's soul visiting Ashura after he died. Ashura gives Sakura back her feather, then stands up and claims the castle, making a wish. The castle begins to crumble because Ashura's wish is to bring back Yasha, which cannot be granted. Syaoran pleads for Ashura to leave before the building disintegrates, but the boy is forcefully pushed away and caught by Kurogane.

Ashura makes another wish, this time to Yūko. Ashura wants that they, Ashura and Yasha, be the gods of the next generation.

Back in Shura, Ashura's men weep in memory of their king. Sakura reabsorbs her feather and promptly passes out. Mokona begins to transport the group out of there. As they leave, Syaoran tells Kumara that if they find the remains or belongings of the two kings, they must bury them together and not separate.

They arrive back in Shura Country, where Fai explains that he and Kurogane had actually landed in Yama before, the country of King Yasha. Without Mokona they could not talk to each other and Kurogane was able to communicate with the locals. They did not reveal what was going on to Syaoran since Kurogane thought it would be better fighting practice for Syaoran if he thought they were against him, thus taking the battle more seriously.

The members of the Suzuran troupe meet Syaoran and Sakura in the road, but do not recognize the two teenagers at all. Kurogane and Fai meet the men from the temple, who also do not recognize the pair. The men from the temple turn out to be meeting with the Suzuran troupe, and they are all quite friendly with one another, confusing Syaoran and company.

Two of the girls from the troupe come over and tell Syaoran, Sakura, and the rest that they are invited to the wedding. They travel to the temple to discover that Sōseki is marrying Suzuran. At the temple the statues of Yasha and Ashura are on display together, along with items belonging to Sakura and Syaoran left behind during their stay in Shara. It becomes clear that Shura is actually the past of Shara. Syaoran realizes that they did what he asked, keeping the remains of Ashura and Yasha together, thus causing the two to never be apart even when made into statues. As a result, the people learned to worship the two gods together and made peace.

Mokona pulls the swords of Yasha and Ashura out of the statues and sends them to Yūko, her payment for making the pair into gods. Mokona spirits the group to their next destination, as Fai holds them all tightly so they won't be separated again.

Fei Wong Reed ponders how powerful Yūko is, as she can travel through time as well as space. She is the only one who stands in the way of his plans.
