Sam Winchester and Dean Winchester follow the co-ordinates left by their father, leading the pair to the woods of Blackwater Ridge, where campers are mysteriously dissappearing. The boys soon learn they are dealing with a Wendigo, a creature made famous by Native American fokelore. Sam and Dean join forces with Haley, who has lost her brother to the creature, in order to hunt it down.

When they first meet Ranger Wilkinson, Dean states that they are environmental study majors from UC Boulder. In real life, the University at Boulder is known as CU-Boulder, not UC.

• And Allusion is made to a "Northern Minnesota Tribe" which also has a legend about the "Wendigo". This is actually the Ojibwe tribe (also known as Anishinaabe or Chippewa) where the Wendigo legend originates. In the language it is derrived from (Ojibwemowin) it is actually spelt "Wiindigo" and is pronounced WEEN-di-GO.
