- The most obvious reference is to the Brothers Grimm and their original fairy tales. In this episode, The Three Little Pigs, Hansel and Gretal, Cinderella and Snow White are dealt with. As Sam notes, the original stories were much more gruesome than the toned down ones we hear and see in the movies today.
