Chapter XXIV is the fourth episode of the third season of Star Wars: Clone Wars, and the twenty-fourth episode overall.

Plot Overview

Chancellor Palpatine confronts General Grievous, but Shaak Ti takes no chances and spirits him out of the room, leaving the clone troopers behind as cover. Grievous slaughters them and goes after the Jedi, who have fled down the hall with the Chancellor. They try to delay him with their Jedi powers, but it has no effect. Eventually Roron Corobb uses his powerful vocal chords to make the ceiling collapse on Grievous while they escape in the elevator.

The elevator reaches the bottom level, but Grievous and a huge group of super battle droids are waiting for them. Corobb uses his vocal chords to blow most of them away, save Grievous. The Jedi flee, avoiding two IG-100 MagnaGuards, but leaving the remaining clone troopers behind where they are promptly killed.

Back on Nelvaan Anakin travels into the frozen wilderness toward a sacred cave. There he sees a vision of a Nelvaan warrior gaining a powerful mechanical hand that first helps, then later destroys the village. Anakin wakes to see a huge mechanical structure pumping.

Grievous and three MagnaGuards continue their pursuit of the Chancellor and the Jedi, following them through the air and into a train station, where they fight while trains whizz by on the tracks. Shaak Ti cuts apart one of the MagnaGuards and pushes another into a train. Corobb bisects another, and just as the three Jedi reunite, General Grievous attacks. When he stops to gloat, Shaak Ti ties the end of his cape to a leaving train, whisking the droid general away.

Anakin sneaks inside the structure to discover Separatist scientists have been performing experiments on the missing Nelvaan warriors. They are about to alter another subject when Anakin bursts in. The scientists unleash some of the other mutated warriors on him.

• General Grievous attempts to kidnap Chancellor Palpatine, but Shaak Ti, Foul Moudama, and Roron Corobb hold him off and escape through the city with the Chancellor.
• Anakin discovers a Separatist laboratory on Nelvaan where they are experimenting on the native peoples.

Characters

• While visiting a sacred cave on Nelvaan, Anakin experiences a vision detailing something that happened on the planet which somewhat mirrors his own life. At the end of the vision, he hears Padmé calling his name.

The Show

• Though Foul Moudama and Roron Corobb were the losers of the Cartoon Network contest to choose a new Jedi to appear on the show, they get considerably more screen time than the actual winner of the contest did.

Memorable Moments

• Roron Corobb taps the elevator button in a futile attempt to make the elevator come faster.
