Star Trek: The Animated Series is an animated continuation of the adventures of Captain Kirk and the Enterprise crew. The show was voiced by most of the actors from Star Trek: The Original Series and billed as a Saturday morning children's show. Ultimately, it failed, and only ran for 1 season, plus a protracted extension into a second of 6 episodes. Gene Roddenberry, as well as Paramount, have stated that the show should not be considered canon.
