Plot Overview

Sonic and friends explain what the Chaos Emeralds are to Chris, and think that if they find them all, they can return home. Meanwhile, the president sends the military to Eggman's base to get ready to attack, and has dispatched a secret undercover agent to get info from Chris about Sonic.

Chris's teacher at school has been replaced by a new teacher named Mr. Stewart, who seems to be keeping a close watch on Chris. Meanwhile, at a construction site, a bulldozer finds the first Chaos Emerald, and starts going crazy on contact. Cream and Cheese watch a report of this on TV, and go tell Sonic about this. Sonic runs off to find the emerald.

Later, Tails and Amy take the Tornado to team up with Sonic. Chris sees the Tornado flying by outside the window, and leaves class to see what's going on. Eggman sees Sonic going after the emerald, and uses Beakon to toss him around. Tails and Amy give Sonic a power ring which he uses to defeat Beakon, while Eggman goes after the emerald. Chris has gotten there first, and Eggman steals the emerald from him. Chris grabs onto Eggman's flying chair and swipes the emerald back, but then falls. Sonic runs over to catch Chris.

Chris brings the emerald home as everyone rejoices, but there's still six more emeralds to find.

English version

  • Sonic: So, Dr. Egghead thinks he can nab that Chaos Emerald before me!
  • Eggman: Now that our speedy little friend is out of the way, let's get back to our original plan, shall we?
  • Chuck: I'm not sure we should keep it here. After all, it might have an effect on my equipment.
Tails: No problem. If anything goes wrong I'll just fix them for you.
Chuck: All right, it's a deal.
    Tails: Okay, Grandpa.

Japanese version

  • Eggman: My most prominent feature! It's just a little stretched... Ah! The emerald!!!
  • Chuck: But, we can't keep it like this. Since it affects machines, right?
Tails: Don't worry! Because, my machine is still working...
    Chuck: That's true! I'm sorry!
    Tails: It's nothing.
