Sarah Wayne Callies
Sarah Wayne Callies was born on June 1, 1977 in La Grange, Illinois as Sarah Anne Callies to two university professors. Callies and her family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii when she was one year old. Raised in Honolulu, Callies graduated from Punahou School in 1995. After graduation, she moved to Hanover, New Hampshire, where she studied at Dartmouth College. Throughout college, Callies was continually involved in theatrical productions and eventually graduated with an undergraduate emphasis in Feminist Studies and a Senior Fellowship in Indigenous Studies in 1999. Subsequently, she entered Denver's National Theater Conservatory where she obtained her Master of Fine Arts degree in 2002.
After moving to New York City, she got her first television role on NBC's Queens Supreme. Callies followed that with other television guest appearances before she landed a lead role in The WB's Tarzan in 2003 and later as Dr. Sara Tancredi on Prison Break.
She currently lives in Canada with her husband, Josh Winterhalt, a martial arts teacher, and in July 2007, the couple welcomed into the world their first child, a daughter, Keala Winterhalt.
