  • Is the oldest of four children
  • Her mother, Helen was a bookkeeper and cashier and her father, Jerry worked as a salesman
  • Her paternal family were Jewish emigrants from Russia and her maternal grandparents were Jewish emigrants from Austria-Hungary and Lithuania
  • Had Bell's Palsy on the left side of her face when she was 3 years old
  • Was hit by a car when she was 16 years old which left her with a traumatic brain injury; due to her behavior caused from the accident, she was institutionalized for eight months at Utah State Hospital.
  • At the age of 17, Roseanne gave birth to a daughter named Brand in May of 1971, whom she put up for adoption; they have since been reunited
  • Was married to Bill Pentland from 1974 to 1990; they have three children: daughters Jessica (born in March of 1975) & Jennifer (born in May of 1976), and son Jacob (born in June of 1978)
  • Was married to Tom Arnold from 1990 to 1994.
  • Married her third husband, Ben Thomas in 1995; they have a son named Buck (born in August of 1995); they divorced in 2002
  • Used to work as a dishwasher, cook, and a waitress for Bennigan's Restaurant
