- Karim Prince was the first African-American actor to portray a Blue Ranger. He would be succeeded by Selwyn Ward and Kevin Duhaney.
- Cestro followed the steps of the original Blue Ranger, Billy, who was also a geeky character. Other geeky blues include Justin and Ethan.
