Iceman is the eighteenth episode of the fourth season of NCIS, and the eighty-eighth episode overall.
A Marine who was found dead, face down in the snow in the park unexpectedly starts breathing again on Ducky's autopsy table.
When the team starts to investigate they find that, though the Marine was on leave from his third tour in Iraq, he had strangely flown back there for a few days on a charter flight.
In an unexpected twist, Gibbs Gibbs trainer, Mike, shows up in the hospital, back from Mexico. The Marine is his son.
Continuing investigations leads the team to discover that the charter flight the Marine had flown on was actually a human smuggling service, for those who could meet the stiff fees. The Marine had smuggled his Iraqi wife and their young son into the United States.
- DiNozzo's girlfriend pushes him to find out how serious he is about her.
- Ziva confronts DiNozzo and asks if things are bad with his girl, if he did something he shouldn't have, said something he shouldn't have, or "didn't say something he should have." Was she guessing, or does she know something.
In the opening scene at the office, Ziva enters wearing an orange touque, late because she was taking a new route for running. Both these a references to Dead Man Walking.
