Ilana Verdansky is a woman who was a passenger on Ajira Airways Flight 316, flying from Los Angeles to Guam. She is played by Zuleikha Robinson and appeared in sixteen episodes.

Basic Information

Ilana was a passenger onboard Ajira Airways Flight 316. She was on her way to Guam from Los Angeles when the plane went down and crashed on the island.

Before Oceanic 815

At some point earlier in her life, Ilana was very badly injured. She was in quite bad shape in the hospital with her entire face bandaged up when she received a visit from Jacob. Ilana was glad to see him and Jacob told her that he needed her help, to which Ilana agreed.

After Oceanic 815

Ilana met Sayid Jarrah in a bar and the two started flirting. At the end of the night, she went home with him, where she suddenly attacked Sayid and pulled a gun on him. She announced that she was a bounty hunter hired by the family of Peter Avellino - a man whom Sayid had murdered a year before.

Ilana was taking Sayid to Guam on Ajira Airways Flight 316. During the flight, there was some heavy turbulence and a flash of white light when suddenly Sayid, along with fellow pasasengers Jack Shephard, Kate Austen and Hugo Reyes, disappeared from the plane. Ilana passed out as the turbulence continued and the plane crashed onto a small island a couple of miles from the main island.

Ilana was woken by a man named Caesar and realised that Sayid was missing. The survivors all made it to the beach and started making plans about what they should do. The captain of the plane, Frank Lapidus tried to get everyone to calm down and be patient. While the group were having discussions, Benjamin Linus walked off into the jungle and was followed by Sun Kwon. Frank saw Sun walking after Ben and decided to also follow. Ilana and the rest of the survivors later found Ben passed out next to an outrigger boat. Frank and Sun had taken another outrigger and made their way to the main island. Ben was taken to the Hydra, a DHARMA Initiative station which the survivors discovered on the island.

That night, a mysterious man arrived on the beach whom not Ilana or anyone else could remember from the flight. His name was John Locke. When Ilana approached John to question him, he announced that he didn't remember being on the plane either and that the last thing he remembered was dying back in Los Angeles.

When Ben returned to the beach, Ilana and Bram where busy tying a crate to some bamboo poles in order to carry it. When John and Ben wanted to take the remaining outrigger to the main island, but Caesar protested, since everyone was suspicious of John. Ben pulled out a rifle and shot Caesar dead. John and Ben then left on the outrigger.

Later on, Frank returned with the first outrigger and found that Ilana and Bram were armed with rifles and had taken controll of the group. Frank wanted to know what was going on. Ilana asked him the question "What lies beneath the shadow of the statue?" When Frank had no idea what she was talking about, Ilana knocked him out with her rifle. Ilana and Bram, along with some other men, loaded the crate and an unconscious Frank onto the outrigger and made their way to the main island.
