Kolchak: The Night Stalker/INS
Overview
The Independent News Service (INS) is a news organization with headquarters in New York. Their Chicago office, which employs reporter Carl Kolchak, is located in an old downtown building. INS keeps boxes stored on the stairwell landings, and filing cabinets in the women's restroom.
Kolchak works for Tony Vincenzo, a short-tempered man who doesn't lend much credence to the outlandish stories that Kolchak often chooses to investigate. He prefers more conventional fare.
Kolchak's desk is beside advice columnist Emily Cowles, whom everyone refers to as just Miss Emily. She will often do grunt work such as making calls, etc. for Kolchak, just to spice up her life a bit.
Kolchak also works with Ron Updyke. Ron is a petty little man who always seems to be at odds with Kolchak. He even tried to have Kolchak's car towed once, but the plan backfired, when Kolchak switched cars.
Trivia
- Purportedly founded in 1904 by Enrico Pallucci.
- The L runs fairly close to the INS offices. Close enough that conversations can be temporarily interrupted.
