Basic Information
Carl Kolchak is an investigative reporter with the Independent News Service. He has a penchant for investigating stories involving bizzare or supernatural phenomena, such as vampires, robots, ape-men, aliens, etc. Murder is usually involved as well. He almost always wears his signature straw boater hat, a suit, and tennis shoes.
His investigative techniques often include wisecracks and impertinence, especially towards those who are hindering an investigation. He will snoop in places where ordinary people would not go; and he will ask questions others might consider weird. On the rare occasion that he can produce proof of the supernatural, he is always prevented from publishing for some reason or other, whether it be the government or some large corporation flexing its muscles.
His boss Tony Vincenzo always seems to be hounding him for a story. It seems that whenever Kolchak gets a picture of a monster, it is either blurry and unconvincing or the authorities confiscate it. Tony wants Kolchak to report on more reliable material.
