Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi is an animated comedy that aired on Cartoon Network.

Puffy Ami Yumi is a Japanese pop duo of Ami Onuki and Yumi Yoshimura. Their first American gig was the theme to the Teen Titans cartoon.

Cartoon Network greenlighted a cartoon series of the girls, and in atypical methods, the girls were given specific designs and personalities. Ami is cute, sweet, has pink hair with a flower in it, wears a yellow and orange miniskirt and go-go boots. Yumi is cool, goth, has purple hair, a dark blue T-shirt with a skull, a dark skirt with purple leggings and army boots. Kaz is their shrimp of a manager who will exploit the girls any way he can in order to make a dollar. The girls have pet cats, Tekirai (white, female) and Jeng Kang (black, male). They love the girls but they can't stand Kaz, who reciprocates the dislike. The series is comprised of three cartoons per show and is a general comedy of manners with the cast with the girls' music thrown in. The animation is a hybrid of American Flash animation and anime (when the girls and Kaz talk, they only have three mouth movements but are still synchronized with the dialogue). The live Puffy AmiYumi appears to bridge the opening with the first cartoon and they announce each cartoon's title.

There were three seasons, but not all of season three aired as the show was abruptly canceled. One episode, "Surf's Up" never was aired as its original title, "Tsunami AmiYumi," conflicted with the tsunami that hit the Phillipines earlier that week.
