Happenings
Hiro Nakamura arrives back on the Tokyo subway train he left when he traveled to New York City five weeks in the future. Having seen the bomb explode in NYC, he realizes what he needs to do. He takes his copy of ///Action Comics/// #1, which is the first appearance of Superman, and rips the cover off. He folds the cover into an origami crane.
Hiro is then shown in a park, speaking to his grandfather. He says how his grandfather survived devastation, and fought the cancer. He says his mother named him Hiro so that they would never forget, but he almost did. He throws away his company ID badge, and places the paper crane on the ground with many others, in front of the Hiroshima Memorial, saying "I will not let this happen again."
