[edit] Plot Overview

Emily plans a launch party for Richard's new business and hires Lorelai and Sookie to cater it. And Kirk prepares...extensively...for a date. But neither affair goes quite as expected.

Richard and Jason Stiles finalize their new partnership.

Rory is taking too many classes at Yale and the work is quickly piling up on her. She searches around for the right place to study.

Emily calls Sookie to book her for catering a launch party for the new partnership and discovers that Lorelai is Sookie's partner in the catering business.

Kirk has a date with Lulu, who is coming in from out of town to visit him.

Emily's plans for a nice launch party are foiled by Jason's arrangements for a trip to Atlantic city. Emily cancels the catering arrangment with Sookie and Lorelai and admits to Lorelai that Emily feels she has been shuffled off to the side. She felt it her duty and her contribution to Richard's business to make the party.

Loralei goes to visit Jason and reams him out for not understanding her mother's efforts. He asks her out to dinner.
