Plot Overview

Still dealing with Kara's death, Lee is appointed to protect Baltar's new lawyer, Romo Lampkin, after his predecessor is assassinated by unidentified suspects. Inspired by Lee's grandfather, Lampkin himself may help inspire the younger Adama to carve his own path.

Notes

Arc Advancement

Happenings

  • Baltar's trial will begin in two weeks.
  • Baltar's lawyer is killed by a bomb planted on a Raptor. A new lawyer, Romo Lampkin, is acquired for the trial. He is under heavy security due to a bomber that is later revealed to be LSO Kelly.

Characters

  • Lee is put in charge of security over Romo Lampkin. Lee believes it has something to do with his grieving over Kara.
  • Lampkin hated Joseph, but he taught him everything he knew. Joseph defended the worst because he wanted to know why people did what they did and Romo got into law for the same reason.
  • Helo has been pulled from managing Dogsville and made CAG to replace Lee.
  • Adama is one of five ship captains selected in the lottery to serve as a tribunal judge at Baltar's trial.
  • After the bomber is identified, Adama sets to reinstate Lee as CAG, but Lee would prefer helping Romo. Adama's refusal ignites a verbal argument in which Lee accuses him of being afraid of becoming like his grandfather and needs someone to carry on with Zak and now Kara gone. Adama bitterly relents and keeps Helo as CAG.
  • Anders is visibly grieving for Kara, almost in denial that she's gone. He winds up breaking his leg and visits the memorial hallway in which he sees Lee has upheld his promise to Kara to put her picture next to Kat's.

Memorable Moments

Quotes

  • Tigh: Never thought I'd miss all Starbuck's yakking.
  • Tigh: (addressing Adama) Your Honour.
(Adama looks confused)
Tigh: You haven't heard. Where you been? They just announced it. You won the lottery. You now own exactly 1/5 of Baltar's skinny ass.
  • Lampkin: Love. Precocious evolutionary move, fashioning Cylons to be capable of experiencing it. I don't know if it was engineered as a tactical imperative, but... it's not for the faint-hearted, is it?
Caprica-Six: No, it's not.
Lampkin: Maybe you should have been nicer to your mechanic.
  • Lee: So what did you take from me?
Lampkin: Hmm. I was thinking, the photograph that you carry. The girl. The pilot. The one you're carrying. But... you've had enough stolen from you already.
  • Lee: Hey, how's the leg?
Anders: You mean my lucky break? It gave me a reason not to come up here. But sooner or later, you run out of excuses.
Lee: It's hard to let her go.
