Special Features

  • Investigation: The History of Æon Flux: This 17-minute featurette describes how Æon Flux came about through MTV's desire to move away from its musical roots to focus on a different audience. It tells the story of Liquid Television and how Peter Chung drew inspiration from his frustration with working with the Rugrats pilot. It also explains Chung's motivations for having Æon die in every episode of the shorts and also the life of the full series and the complications that it raised like the issue of creating a voice for the characters in the series, particularly Æon and Trevor. It ends talking about the things that Peter Chung went back to fix and enhance for the 2005 DVD release. That and an insane poem by Mark Mars.
  • The Deviant Devices of Æon Flux: This featurette explains the various pieces of technology that Æon uses throughout the series. It is shown in the form of kind of an instructional clip show narrated by Æon herself. It is presumed that this explanation of her motivations on why she uses the described devices is completely canonical. As well as the guns she uses, Æon also describes the border control techniques from Breen and the various things people have tried to kill her with. Eventually it just turns into a big political rant against Trevor.

Easter Eggs

  • None known.

Alterations

  • Many of the episodes have been restored and enhanced using digital lighting and color correction. There were also several instances where audio was readded into the episode, like the orgasmic scream that appears in Thanatophobia.
