Plot Overview
A cop car is shown taking Toad away. Then, the Brotherhood of Mutants stops them and free Toad. Next, we go to Senator Kelly talking about how dangerous mutants are and he unveils a Sentinel Prowler to stop mutants. He says that it won't hurt anyone, but it ends up going through the audience, going after Rogue who it identifies as an unregistered mutant. Angel saves Rogue from the Prowler, but then his wing is shot by the Prowler, and as Angel and Rogue fall, Beast grabs them both and they land safely. Meanwhile, with the Prowler right in front of them, Wolverine attacks it and stops it. Beast asks Angel if he will become an X-Man again, to which he says he can't, as he uses his family's wealth to help mutants, but if he became and X-Man he would get cut off by his family. Rogue and Wolverine talk briefly as Rogue walks away, upset at Wolverine for always leaving even though he is supposed to be a leader.
That night, Rogue is walking around when Toad seems to try to rob from her. After Rogue touches Toad, leaving him drained, the rest of the Brotherhood come over, with Domino persuading Rogue to join them, as they both agree the Mutant Registration Act won't be good. Meanwhile, Wolverine finds Cyclops and tries to get him to rejoin the X-Men, but he refuses to, as he has since Jean Grey disappeared. We then go back to the Brotherhood including Rogue, where Avalance destroys Senator Kelly's home, and they take off in Senator Kelly's vehicle. As they drive away, an MRD truck spots them, which Rogue tries to drive away from until Avalanche makes some abandoned warehouses crumble to stop them. The Brotherhood then go to the home of Warren Worthington II, where Rogue is supposed to touch him so that she will know Senator Kelly's schedule. She resists, and Angel, Warren's son comes in the room and is quickly stopped by Blob. While Rogue still doesn't want to touch him, Domino forces Rogue's hand on him, meaning they know Senator Kelly's schedule.
At the X-Mansion, Wolverine and Beast are discussing what X-Men they can find. They don't seem to be having much like, when Angel comes in to tell them that Rogue has joined the Brotherhood. We then see the Brotherhood outside of a manufacturing plant owned by Worthington Industries, where Senator Kelly will be holding a press conference. They are discussing how when the press conference starts, they will end Senator Kelly.
Wolverine and Beast then go to the house of Bobby Drake, aka Iceman to try and convince his parents to let him come back to the X-Men. They refuse, but Wolverine kicks the door open and invites Bobby to come anyway. With Bobby onboard, he tells them that Shadowcat is on a boat to Genosha, where Magneto is. They fly over the boat, and Shadowcat jumps in. They all go back to the X-Mansion, where Rogue is there. She tells them of the Brotherhood's plans, and joins them. The next day, when the press conference starts, the X-Men come to save Senator Kelly's life. Instead, they end up fighting with MRD's, which ends up making them look bad. Angel helps them get away, when Angel tells Wolverine that by trying to save Senator Kelly, a man that doesn't like mutants, he did what Professor Xavier would have done. We then see the Brotherhood, where Rogue comes by, and the Brotherhood congratulate her on a job well done, setting up the X-Men and betraying her friends, and welcome her into the Brotherhood.
