Plot Overview

Shadowcat, Colossus and Nightcrawler are training in the danger room at the X-Mansion when Wolverine stops by to say good-bye. He then goes outside where Beast is waiting to say good-bye, and then finds Rogue who is unhappy about him leaving, as Wolverine is the closest to family she has. As Wolverine is about to leave, Professor Xavier and Jean Grey start showing signs of trouble when an explosion occurs.

A year later, Wolverine is going somewhere on his motorcycle when a train passes by. A minute later, the train gets in an accident, to which Wolverine goes the other way. We see that a couple's little girl is still in the train. Then, Wolverine comes to help get her out. He goes in, but an explosion occurs and neither he nor the girl get out. Then, a little while later, after putting the fires out, they find Wolverine, and he had the girl underneath him, unharmed. The girl's father wants to help him, but one of his friends calls the MRD as Wolverine is wanted. The girl's father decides to bring Wolverine home with them to help him get better.

We then go back to one year earlier, when an explosion happened, where we find out that Professor Xavier and Jean Grey have disappeared. Wolverine wakes up with his claws out, until he realizes that the little girl had brought him a drink. The MRD then come to the house, led by Col. John Wraith, looking for Wolverine, to which the family refuses to help them. Wolverine comes out and fights some of them off, but not before they take away the family for refusing to help them.

Wolverine goes to what's left of the X-Mansion and finds Beast, who he asks to help him. They find an MRD vehicle which they take over, with Wolverine putting on the MRD costume and Beast in the back like a prisoner. Using the disguise, they get into the MRD headquarters to help the family. We see that the family is still refusing to give the MRD any information, so the father is tortured some. Just as they are about to take the girl, Wolverine and Beast arrive and restrain Col. John Wraith and free not only the family, but all of the other mutants in captivity. They all leave on a helicopter, where a couple of the other mutants use their powers to get away from the MRD that is chasing them. Once they return, Beast and Wolverine decide that they need to bring back the X-Men.
