WVLT-DT2 is a subcarrier of Knoxville, Tennessee CBS affiliate WVLT-TV. It is a My Network TV affiliate broadcasting on digital channel 30.2, displayed on tuners as 8.2.
The subcarrier opened in 2002 as a UPN outlet (UPN first having been secondary on primary WVLT). In 2006, UPN and the WB folded and merged as the CW. Fox parent company News Corporation started up a new network, My Network TV and made WVLT's subcarrier its Knoxville affiliate.
Comcast cable in Knoxville shows WVLT-DT2 on channel 8 (primary WVLT's virtual) while Dish Network and DirecTV show it on channel 30 (primary WVLT's physical digital). AT&T U-Verse currently refuses to carry the subcarrier.
