WFXT is a FOX affiliate in Boston, Massachusetts. The station broadcasts on digital channel 31 displayed to tuners on virtual channel 25 and is owned by Cox Media Group.
WFXT began in 1977 as call letters WXNE-TV as an independent station. In 1986, the station became a FOX affiliate and in 1987, changed its call letters to the current WFXT. It became a Fox owned-and-operated station that same year and was owned-and-operated for a number of years until 2014 the station was sold to Cox Media Group in-trade for FOX affiliate KTVU in San Francisco, California, Cox also bought fellow FOX affiliate WHBQ-TV in Memphis, Tennessee.
