Plot Overview

Syaoran is shocked to see Seishiro. However, Ryuoh grabs him and they make a run for it.

Yuzuriha has brought Sakura back to the café, where Fai and Kurogane are waiting. Souma and Kusanagi are there as well. Fai speculates that Sakura was drawn to her feather again. Just then, Syaoran and Ryuoh run up. They tell the others that they just encountered the new breed of oni.

Fai and Syaoran take Sakura up to the bedroom, and Fai tells Syaoran to watch over her for a while. Downstairs, they gather around the table to discuss the new oni. Fai says that the new breed of oni is perhaps the same as the I-1 oni. Everyone is surprised except for Kurogane, who thinks that just makes things easier. Kusanagi says they should just concentrate on the I-1 oni since City Hall hasn't said anything about the new breed. In response, Fai says that they will go after the new breed, then, perhaps finding what they were searching for (the feather).

Upstairs, Syaoran is brooding by the window. Ryuoh and Yuzuriha rush in, but Syaoran doesn't turn away from the window. Instead, he is remembering Seishiro from his past. When Ryuoh touches Syaoran on the shoulder, he finally responds and tells them that Seishiro is the one who taught him how to fight. Everyone leaves the room while Syaoran continues to think. He wonders why Seishiro is working with the oni.

Back in Fei Wong Reed's world, we see the person in the tank again. The black-haired girl complains that something is interfering with their plan. Fei Wong Reed says no matter what, they are still on the same path.

Sakura brings breakfast up to Syaoran the next morning. She tells him not to hide his feelings, because then she'll worry. Syaoran remembers a time when they were children. He has just returned from an expedition, and she came to see him. When she grabbed his hands, she noticed they were injured. He said he put no bandages on them because he didn't want her to worry. Outside of the flashback, Sakura says she's sorry, but if he needs anything, let her know.

Syaoran and Kurogane go to City Hall to find more information about the new oni. Kurogane knows about the connection between Seishiro and Syaoran. Syaoran wants to know if Seishiro has Sakura's feather. Inside, the receptionist denies that such an oni exists, saying that City Hall has not commented on such a thing. Then Syaoran says he saw it himself, a man leading the oni. The receptionist says she cannot divulge information on who leads the oni. Syaoran says that must mean such a person exists, and asks for the information. The receptionist still cannot give it to them, instead directing them to a place where they can go. However, the chance of survival is seven percent. Kurogane is looking forward to seeing how well his new sword can cut. As they leave, Syaoran comments on how there might not be a new breed of oni at all.

They arrive at the tower, and enter. It is dark, and Syaoran wants to use a light, but Kurogane tells him not to. They are attacked by insect-like oni, which Kurogane quickly dispatches with his sword. After climbing a long, winding set of stairs, Syaoran is grabbed by long tentacles. Touching them, he notices they are covered in oil. He has Kurogane cut his right hand free, with which he pulls out his lighter and ignites the tentacles, which wither to the ground.

Back at the café, Sakura has just finished washing dishes. She wants to go help in the cafe now, but she passes out and Fai catches her. He says he wants to pray for her happiness.

At the tower, Kurogane kills more oni, and Syaoran apologizes for not fighting. Kurogane says he doesn't stand a chance right now anyway. They continue deeper into the tower, and Syaoran admits to being able to sense things better now. They eventually reach a set of double doors with a moon-shape on them. Kurogane pushes the doors open. Beyond the doors is a well-lit, pleasant room. Two girls are sitting at a table. One runs toward them and practically tackles Syaoran, knocking him to the ground. Both of the girls are actually oversized. They introduce themselves at Sumomo and Kotoko. After Sumomo gets off Syaoran, they sit down with Kotoko. She tells them that the man who leads the oni is the I-1 oni. When Syaoran asks if this person has a hood, she says no. She says the person with the hood, the person who just arrived, is not the I-1 oni, but he is the one who has been interfering.

Seishiro is standing outside the Cat's Eye Café. Fai is looking after Sakura inside, when Mokona tells Fai that it's okay for Fai to smile and relax, too. Fai says he's always happy, but Mokona says that he's also always thinking of something else; in fact, all of them are a little bit lonely. Traveling together eases that feeling.

In the tower, Syaoran and Kurogane are talking about the I-1 and the new breed of oni being two different people. If Seishiro is the one who's interfering, Kurogane wants to know where the I-1 is, then. Sumomo interrupts them - there is an emergency.

Shishiro enters the café. He asks if there are oni slayers there.
