Plot Overview

Still shell-shocked from the events in Bangkok, Tamsin and Callum settle into their jobs and lives in Sydney, as do Ned and Nic in London. Tamsin's fiancé Sam arrives in Sydney to visit her. Jeremy meets his son Ned in London. They visit Jeremy's brother James and his family, but the relationship between the brothers is very strained. Later, Jeremy reveals to Ned that he isn't his biological father. Ned is upset and his appearance on an inane late night show on the same evening ends in disgrace. Nic starts as a math teacher and is appalled that a young woman he had a one-night stand with is among his students.

Characters

  • Tamsin has a nondescript white collar job in Sydney. She starts work early to take her mind off the events in Bangkok. When Sam arrives, she tries to talk to him about cheating but the two don't quite connect.
  • Callum works in construction by day and parties through the nights in gay nightclubs. Eventually he has an emotional breakdown and calls Lizzie.
  • Lizzie keeps seeing dead Dave everywhere around her.
  • Ned learns that Jeremy isn't his biological father. Distraught by this, he manages to turn his first appearance on British television and the night afterwards into scandal. Tamsin eventually convinces him to talk to Lydia who reveals that James is his biological father. Ned tries to talk to James, but James can't deal with the situation.
  • Nic refuses to talk to Flick. He moves into a spare room of one of his fellow teachers, Mr. Robinson. On a night out, he is picked up by a young woman. Rather than taking him home, she has sex with him on the still warm hood of a car. The next morning, when he introduces himself as a math teacher to his class, he is dismayed to find the girl among his students.
  • Jeremy cheats on his second wife with a girlfriend in London.

Trivia

Quotes

  • (Nic and Ned are getting drunk)
Lizzie: It's 1AM. You two are so selfish. I have turned the only man who ever loved me gay, and now I'll never have a husband, and I'll never have children. The least you can do is let me sleep through my grief!
  • Callum: You're not gay!
Magnus: No. Not all the men in Sydney are.
